I believe this is the first time I’m talking about this publicly. Apologies for beginning the year with this post.

Death.

It’s a subject that haunts every one of us. Almost every one of us.

It does not scare me, yet I found myself stepping back onto the pedestrian path as a car blindly turns its way around the corner, missing me by a few inches. If it didn’t scare me, why did I avoid it?

Perhaps it is human intuition - we say we are not scared, not haunted, yet we unintentionally turns around at its doorsteps. Some argue that the our ‘times’ are decided the day we set foot on earth, as if it is all written in a mystical record book. Others say that it is up to us, our good and bad deeds, of which determines the time of our last breathes. Everyone has their own theories, beliefs, different outlooks upon death, yet at the end of the day, it does not really matter. Whether its love, wealth, happiness or fame, we, ultimately as piles of coldblooded left overs,  end up with nothing as the coffin lids slide close.

None of us is capable of changing the cold truth, but many have told me that sometimes the truth is up to one herself to define. My truth might be ugly, unspeakable but I hope yours are beautiful. My world might be upside down, but I have my dear sustenances, constantly trying to change that.

As the new year rings its bell, I send my love to all of you out there. I am praying for you all sincerely and candidly, hoping that you will all find what you are looking for in the next three hundred and sixty-five days and nights. On a positive note, whether it’s love, breathing space, freedom or happiness that you seek, believe in person ‘up there’ to grant you your wishes. No matter if he or she is in your good or bad books, believe that there is only a way up after the lowest, believe that there will be a smile after every cry, believe that the rainbow will always come, even after the most treacherous storms.

Believe in what you’ve got left, and mould it into something beautiful.

Happy new year, my dear.
